Essential Oils for Instant Energy

“I feel sluggish and lethargic”

“It’s like I’m wearing a weighted vest and just don’t want to move”

“I have to use sugar or caffeine to just make it through the day”

“I hate sitting on the couch and watching my life pass by, just because I’m too tired to do anything”

“I feel heavy and lazy”

“I’m discouraged and frustrated that nothing seems to work for me”

Any of that sound familiar?  I spend years experiencing this personally, and now hear it from clients on a weekly basis.  It seems so many women are suffering from the effects of fatigue and low energy.

When was the last time you jumped out of bed and felt excited for the new day?

When was the last time you had time and energy to take care of yourself the way that you know you want to?

How often are you relying on unhealthy stimulants to perk up during the day?

How many nights have you gone to bed exhausted (even though you felt like you didn’t do much), and crossed your fingers for a better day tomorrow?

Essential Oils To The Rescue

Essential oils are an all natural, supportive way to boost energy levels and get you feeling better quick.  Rather than relying on unhealthy stimulants (caffeine, sugar) to keep you alter during the day, try a healthy essential oil routine!

I have healed myself of chronic fatigue, anxiety, and auto-immune disease.  Through the long journey to health, I discovered several different tools that boosted energy levels and pulled me out of that fog of fatigue.

The Best Oils for Instant, All-Day Energy

Joy – I tell most of my client to rub a drop of this over their heart every morning.  The Joy blend is a combination of several high vibration oils that uplift the emotions and spirit.  When you are feeling joyful, it’s hard to feel depleted and fatigued at the same time!

Lemon – I dare you to not feel awake and energized when you are using lemon oil!  In addition to adding it to my laundry and cleaning solutions, I love this one mixed in the diffuser.  Here are my favorite diffuser combos:

Happy and Energized:

1-2 drops lemon

3 -4 drops Joy

Awake and Clear:

3 drops lemon

3 drops peppermint

Peppermint – The cool, refreshing tingle of peppermint oil is sure to wake you up during that 3pm slump.  Here are my favorite ways to use peppermint.  Inhale a drop right from the bottle.  Drop a small bit onto your tongue (be careful – it’s powerful!) to clean your palate and banish brain fog.   Or, fill the whole house with uplifting refreshment through the diffuser!

Tranquil – This blend is good for when you are feeling appropriately tired (at bed time), but you can’t seem to settle down or turn your brain off.  I will put a little bit of this on the back of my neck before bed every night, and it guarantees me a deep, rejuvenating night’s sleep - exactly what you need for an energized tomorrow!

I recommend Young Living essential oils, purchased through an independent distributor.  If you would like to purchase these oils at the wholesale price, contact me HERE or contact your local Young Living distributor.

Healing Hormones {guest blog post}

Guest post by Dawn Pfingsten at Just Doing My Best

Creating hormone balance is different for every woman.

In our 20’s we tend to think only grandmas experience hormone issues. It doesn’t take long to find out that hormone issues can affect every woman in one way or another, some more than others. And, they don’t necessarily wait until you’re a grandma.

Now that I’m in my 40’s, it seems like every birthday brings a new “hormonal surprise”.

These changes are brought on by declining levels of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Yes, even woman have testosterone.

What Do Hormones Do In The Body?

Let’s talk for a moment about how they all work. First, estrogen promotes the health of the female reproductive organs, helps keep cholesterol levels down, and affects your brain (including your mood). When estrogen levels decline, usually about my age (sometimes younger), your sexual desire can be affected, and you can experience vaginal dryness, hot flashes, night sweats, and dry skin.

Second, there’s progesterone. This affects your periods and will actually stop being produced during your cycle and when ovulation stops after your last cycle (when you’re technically in menopause). Progesterone benefits the bones and cardiovascular system.

Lastly, there’s testosterone, which helps with the production of estrogen. Testosterone declines after your 20’s. It helps with libido, brain function, bone health, your sleep, and stamina.

Everyone woman is different. Some will be affected greatly by fluctuating hormone levels while some women notice very few changes.

Most women will likely notice a lot of the same symptoms associated with their regular cycle, but enhanced while approaching perimenopause (the time right before menopause). Symptoms like breast tenderness and moodiness for instance.

I have definitely experienced mood swings, my husband will attest to that. They don’t happen as much as they used to since I’ve found something that really works for me.

I love maca root. Since I’ve been using this I have more energy and muscle mass. But, the biggest difference I’ve noticed is with my libido. Most women will say their interest level decreases as they get past 40 and 50. This has helped me so much.

My husband says he’s noticed a difference in several areas. He’s noticed that my interest level has increased, but he also told me recently I’m not as moody and quick to snap, yet another piece of the hormone puzzle.

Hormone issues differ for everyone. It’s important to take care of yourself. And, when you find something natural that might help, it’s worth a try. I hope this helps you like it has helped me.

As we reach menopause it’s also important to drink water, exercise and eat well too. It all helps you stay on top of your game and feel your best.

Megan's Notes

Emotional Root Cause of Hormone Imbalance

Emotionally, a hormone imbalance correlates to feelings of overwhelm, a lack of joy, feeling overlooked, and pressure to be successful (this can relate to any area of your life - your body, your family, your health, your career, etc).  Does that resonate with you at all?  Take a few minutes and see where those feelings may be coming from.  A lot of the time, we put un-needed pressure on ourselves.  Are there any self-imposed "rules" that are no longer serving you?  Where can you take a step back, simplify, and release stress?

Where can you ignite joy back into your life?  Can you take a break this week and go to lunch with a friend?  Stop what you are doing right now, go outside, and breath some fresh air into your body.  Take 5 minutes to clear your mind and meditate.

Healing doesnt have to be hard.

Gentle food from nature, compassionate exercise, standing up for yourself and speaking truth, intentional joy, daily stress release, and supportive nutrition (maca, greens, avocado, sweet potatoes) are all things you can do to rebalance hormones.

Post-Meal Craving Buster

This tip is for those who get those cravings right after a meal.  For me, it was a habit.  I always wanted a little something after lunch and dinner.  Long after I decided to replace my sugar habit with more loving self-care, my tastebuds were still craving sugar.   This tip did the trick – and still does!

1 drop therapeutic grade peppermint oil

Peppermint can clear out your sinuses, clear up your thoughts, and clean your palate.  Put one drop on the back of your clean hand and quickly dab the tip of your tongue on the spot.  Close your mouth and let the peppermint reset your tastebuds.  Make sure you wash any excess peppermint off your hand!

If you don’t feel comfortable using the oil internally, you can always put a drop on your hands, cup your hands to your face, and inhale the oil.

Sugar Craving Buster Oil Blend

These oils have been selected to offer support while breaking your emotional and physical sugar cravings.

4 drops Bergamot (supports endocrine system and promotes a sense of calm and wellbeing)

3 drops Ocotea (supports balanced blood sugar levels)

7 drops Dill (sugar craving powerhouse, helps remove addiction to sweets)

You can put these oils into a 10ml roller bottle and fill remaining space with a carrier oil (I use fractionated coconut oil.  Rub a little on your wrists a couple times a day while you are shifting your sugar habits.  Then, you can use just as a craving hits.

*Make sure you use therapeutic grade oils.  If you need help finding them, you can contact me or your local Young Living distributor.

The Unexpected Solution to Healing Your Anxiety

This post is an excerpt from my e-book, Keys To Calm.

You Hold The Keys to Your Health

You are the thoughts you think, the emotions you feel, and the choices you make.  And it happens in that order – you have a thought, you feel an emotion, you make a choice.  So, how do we change our life?  We change our choices.  To changes our choices, we must change our emotions, and to change our emotions, we must change our thoughts.  It all starts with your thoughts.

“The fact that the mind rules the body is, in spite of its neglect by biology and medicine, the most fundamental fact which we know about the process of life.” –Franz Alexander, M.D.

The key to healing anxiety (or any other health concern) is locked in your thoughts.  The only limit to your healing is your beliefs.

Your physical life is a manifestation of your predominant thoughts.  Sometimes when a client of mine realizes that their thoughts are a large contributor to their suffering, they feel even more fear.

Because, what’s coming next?

How do I control my negative thoughts?

What if all you seem to do is complain and find fault in yourself?

Good news!  A positive thought is more powerful than a negative thought, period.  No matter how long you’ve been thinking negative thoughts, you can change that today.

Healing cannot occur when we are focused on what is wrong.  It only occurs when we shift our intention to what is right.  Instead of focusing on being sick, focus on being well.  Right this minute, you can initiate healing in your body.

Ok, great, now what?

How do you change these old beliefs and thoughts?

The first step is to become aware of them.  Notice when you are complaining, thinking negative thoughts, or acting out of an old belief system.

When you notice it happening, stop.

Give yourself compassion - you are always doing the best you know how!

Put your hand on your heart, and repeat, "I recognize what I feel.  It's safe to feel the way I do.  I now lovingly release these negative thoughts and beliefs.  I am worthy.  I am enough.  I now welcome love, joy, health, and prosperity into my life."

In Keys to Calm, much more insight around this topic is provided.  I also provide you with a list of negative thoughts and belief patterns that create anxiety.  I also offer you a new thought pattern (affirmation) that can heal anxiety and ill health.

Thriving health is so much closer than you can imagine.

It's right behind your fear.

All it takes is a change of perception.
