These salmon cakes are my go-to quick, family friendly meal for busy nights.  All my kids gobble them up, they take only a couple minutes to prepare, and they load our bodies with healthy omega-3 fats, vitamin d, and protein - all key nutrients for a calm mind and emotional balance!  What's not to love?!

Superstar Salmon Cakes {kid friendly, gluten free, paleo, Whole30}

Great for a main meal, topped with avocado and served alongside sweet potatoes, broccoli, salad, and sauerkraut.

INGREDIENTS

3 cans wild caught Alaskan salmon

2 eggs, organic and pasture-fed

2-3 T organic mayonnaise

Several shakes of dill

Several shakes of herbamere seasoning and/or sea salt

DIRECTIONS

1. Mix well until ingredients are combined.

2. Heat butter, ghee, or other cooking oil on a skillet over medium heat.

3. Put a ball of salmon mixture onto pan, flatten with back of fork.

4. Cook on each side 3-4 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

Enjoy!

How Muscle Testing Takes The Guesswork Out Of Your Health

Ever wish you had a way to know EXACTLY what your body needs?  Do you feel confused about which healing diet would be best for you?  Ever wonder if the supplements you take are actually helpful?  Wish you knew what foods are best for you or your kids?  

Well, let me introduce you to the absolute best tool I have in my toolbox.  

 

Simply put, muscle testing (also known as applied kinesiology) is the quickest way to get clear answers from your body.  There is so much confusion and conflicting science in alternative health, and muscle testing is the best way to get clear on what your body needs.

Before I explain muscle testing, it’s important for you to understand the subconscious mind.

Understanding Your Subconscious Mind

When explaining muscle testing and the subconscious to my new clients, I like to use the metaphor of a computer.  Your subconscious is like a big super-computer that has recorded every word you’ve ever spoken, every face you’ve ever seen, every illness you’ve had, every thought that has crossed your mind, every emotion you’ve felt.  

Your subconscious is responsible for 90% of your bodily functions –  your heart beating, your eyes blinking, your nails growing, your food digesting, and so on.  It’s also important to understand that the subconscious mind has a strong influence on the things we do, the emotions we feel, and the actions we take in our every day lives.  Hidden in the subconscious are our emotional triggers that can keep us stuck in cycles of ill health, stress, anxiety, depression, and so on.  Like a powerful computer, your subconscious mind is capable of recording and processing a lifetime of information.

In addition, your subconscious also knows exactly what your body needs to heal. 

Let that sink in for a minute.

Your subconscious, your spirit, your higher self, knows EXACTLY what you need. 

 

How Many Questions Do You Have Regarding Your Health? 

Here are few questions I wondered about before I learned how to muscle test...

Should I eat vegan? 

Should I eat paleo? 

Do I need this supplement? 

Am I deficient in magnesium? 

Would it be better for me to run or do yoga? 

How much sleep is best for my body? 

How much water do I need to be drinking every day? 

I feel a cold coming on, what vitamins should I take to feel better quick? 

Do I have any trapped emotions that are causing my symptoms?

I could go on for a while there, but you get the point.  Muscle testing answers all of these questions.

Muscle Testing Takes The Guess Work Out Of Your Health

Muscle testing was first developed by Dr. George Goodheart in the 1960s as a way to correct misalignments in the spine.  See Applied Kinesiology: A Training Manual and Reference Book of Basic Principles and Practice by Robert Frost, 2002 for more information.  Muscle testing is now widely accepted by doctors, chiropractors, naturopaths, energy medicine practitioners, and other health care workers. 

Your body has an innate wisdom that can guide you to make healthier choices.  You just have to know how to access that wisdom.  

“Muscle testing is a noninvasive tool we can use to identify imbalances in the body. The science behind it is similar to a lie detector test or a polygraph. In a polygraph, a person is hooked up to sensitive electrodes and asked certain questions. The person’s answers generate a certain electrical response in the body, which is read and graphed by the machine, showing if the answers are true or false. This is done on a very delicate, minute scale. The muscles of the body are also affected by this electrical state- so we can use them to show this same response, just on a more pronounced, larger scale. Any muscle will become weakened in a state of incongruence or falsehood, making resistance difficult. Conversely, muscles will remain strong and able to resist when in a state of congruency or truth. What’s nice is that muscle testing allows us to access important information about health, we just have to know what questions to ask, then apply the resistance to a muscle and get our answers!” –Dr. Bradley Nelson, The Emotion Code

Affirmations I Used to Heal from Auto-Immune Disease

I worked for a long time trying to heal my body.  I focused on nutrition, movement, stress reduction, and sleep.  I made some progress, but nowhere near where I knew I could be.  I had heard about mind-body stuff before, and kind of brushed it off as something I would look into when I got better.  The power of our thoughts?  Yeah, I know, I need to think positive, but I will start worrying about that when I’m healthy again. 

But, my health kept stalling.  2 steps forward, 1 step back is frustrating when you’re trying to heal.  One day, I decided it was time to check out this positive thinking stuff.  And, guess what, it’s just what I needed!

Affirmations for Healing

Here are the affirmations I used to heal myself of auto-immune disease.  Please feel free to edit them as you wish.  I suggest printing this out and putting it up on the fridge or the bathroom mirror.  Read through the list a few times a day for a few weeks, and see how things start to shift!  Then, report back!  I want to know how you’re doing!

-       My desires are in line with my highest good and well-being.

-       My body and mind are at peace.

-       I am safe to express my truth.

-       I am worthy of thriving health.

-   My body is my most trusted friend.  It is always on my side.

-       I am at ease and living in vibrant health.

 There is only health, prosperity, and joy – everything else is an illusion.

-  I go beyond other's expectations, and create the life I desire.

-  I no longer make decisions out of fear.

-  I enjoy nourishing myself with love, healthy food, uplifting social interactions, and time in nature.
